One of the goals in every Pokemon is always to try and catch as many different Pokemon as you can on your journey through the respective regions. The only issue along the way though is that you are limited to only six Pokemon in your party at a time, with the rest sent off to boxes in your PC in the game until you need them. You will almost ways need to switch out your Pokemon eventually, so this guide will detail how you can get access to these additional Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

How To Access Pokemon Box

There are multiple boxes in which you can store your Pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield, with there being no doubt you’re going to want to swap them out at some point. You do have the option to immediately swap out a party member for a newly captured Pokemon upon capture, but we are talking about switching them out after that point.

To access your Pokemon Box, what you need to do early on is head to the Pokemon Center and look at the PC to the left of the healing station. Interact with this computer and click “Check Boxes.” Once you have this open, you can then either switch one of your Pokemon in your party or one in the box and select “Move” to then select who you want to swap in and out.

As we discussed in another guide, you can also do this on the go after a certain point in the game. This makes this much easier than having to travel back to Pokemon Centers every time, so make sure to read up on how to do that as well.
